All Things

I have no strength—your strength empowers me

I have no answers—your wisdom floods me

I have no voice—you place words in my mouth

I have no patience—you are longsuffering

I have no endurance—your presence is eternal, without wavering

I have no victory—you are the triumphant king

I have no creativity—the world was created by your word

I have no beauty—the colors of the rainbow are at your command

I have no purpose—your plan for me was founded before the creation of the world

I am lonely—you never leave me

I am discomfited—your Holy Spirit is my comforter

I am without mercy—your grace and compassion never end

I am without resources—you are my provider

I am without direction—your Word points the way

I am lost—you find me and call me by name

In all ways, you are all things to me today and every day.

Some days are smooth as glass. You know what I mean. You slide through challenges without difficulty, glide through the day's problems without a backward glance. But then the other days come along. You know what I mean. The ones where even a minor glitch sends you into a tailspin, where every step feels like slogging through pudding, and you wonder what in the world you are doing with your life.

Dear Lord, no matter what kind of day we are having, help us turn to you for the answers to life's perplexing problems. Give us the wisdom and discernment needed to see the bigger picture. Strengthen us according to your promises. Thank you for always being there and for always being enough for whatever situation we may encounter. Amen.
